Signs of Life

Crying signifies that we are alive. When we are born, doctors and families wait in anticipation of the sound of the cry, but as we grow older, we are told to stop, and so we stifle our need to cry. So, what do we do when we are in pain? What happens when your soul needs to shed a tear and we feel the need to scream but we remember that big girls don't cry? Wow what a lie from the pit of hell, when that thought pops into my head I remind myself that Jesus wept. He wept over the pain of losing his friend even though he knew that he was going to raise him from the dead. He cried in agony in the garden as the weight of the suffering to come was on him. He screamed in pain as he felt the separation between him and his father. So, the next time you are tempted to not express yourself with a good cry remember this if Jesus did it so can you. Not convinced that you should be crying according to Pennmedicine.org crying has some health benefits "When we cry we are actually relieving our body of countless toxins and hormones that contribute to elevated stress levels. This in turn can help individuals to sleep better, strengthen their immune systems, and avoid gaining weight. By lowering our stress levels, crying may also help lower our blood pressure." Your tears are an act of worship and sign that you are alive
